Team 8-3 Policies
WELCOME Class of 2019 to Team 8-3 Language Arts with Mrs. Genao & Mrs. Garofalo!
Below you will find some important information about our 2018/19 school year. Please read, review and sign below.
Supply List:
- Blue or Black pens
- Tissues aren’t necessary but are always welcome
Grading Policy:
- 60% of the marking period: tests, projects, major writing assignments
- 40% of the marking period: quizzes, shorter writing pieces, important classwork assignments
Due dates:
- All work is due IN CLASS on the assigned date
- Late work may result in a deduction of points, depending on assignment
Absences:
- All students have one make-up day for each absence
- Students who are present in school but absent from class are responsible for the day’s work
- It it the student’s responsibility to seek out work
Laptops:
- These are used EVER SINGLE DAYin our class
- Computers must be charged nightly
Preparation:
- You must come to class everyday with the following items:
- Independent read book
- Pen
- Computer
- Any necessary assignments
Independent Reading:
- Independent reading will take place throughout the ENTIRE year
- Students are responsible for bringing this to class every single day
- You will each be given a composition notebook for entries that will be kept in class.
- There may be times that the notebooks go home but they MUST return the following day
Mandatory Typed Assignments:
- We do NOT have classroom computers
- We recommend hooking laptops to home computers
- Assignments that need to be printed must happen during homeroom OR lunch ONLY
- If there is difficulty printing, you have the following options:
- Save all work on your GoogleDrive
- Email the assignment as an attachment to [email protected]or [email protected]
- Hand write the assignment
Schoology:
- All important assignments/updates/announcements will be posted to our class Schoology page
- The majority of assignments will be completed on Schoology
Remind:
- We encourage all students and parents to sign up for the REMIND texts
