Independent Reading

 

Guidelines for reading responses:

 

  • All reading responses are to be done in your marble notebook!
  • You may complete your responses in class during independent reading time or at home.
  • You must use a variety of types of responses, do not do the same type of response for all 10
  • You will need to complete 10 different types of reading responses.
  • Each response MUST be dated, include the book title, the type of reading response and each one is to be on its own page.
  • Sample responses are in the folder in the back of our classroom. Please use these as reference!
 

 

ALWAYS REMEMBER!

 

  • Each entry is titled
  • Each entry is dated
  • Each entry must be labeled “long” or “short”
  • Each entry MUST have text evidence (DIRECT QUOTE FROM THE BOOK!!!!!)
  • Each entry must include the title of the book
  • Short is half a page
  • Long is a whole page
  • NO repeating entry ideas
