Independent Reading
Guidelines for reading responses:
- All reading responses are to be done in your marble notebook!
- You may complete your responses in class during independent reading time or at home.
- You must use a variety of types of responses, do not do the same type of response for all 10
- You will need to complete 10 different types of reading responses.
- Each response MUST be dated, include the book title, the type of reading response and each one is to be on its own page.
- Sample responses are in the folder in the back of our classroom. Please use these as reference!
ALWAYS REMEMBER!
- Each entry is titled
- Each entry is dated
- Each entry must be labeled “long” or “short”
- Each entry MUST have text evidence (DIRECT QUOTE FROM THE BOOK!!!!!)
- Each entry must include the title of the book
- Short is half a page
- Long is a whole page
- NO repeating entry ideas
