Welcome to Language Arts team 6-1!
I am looking forward to working with each and every one of you.
I hope you find this website to be an invaluable resource to help keep you up to date on what is happening in our classroom and what is expected of our students.
With our language arts curriculum, it is the goal to provide you with quality and rigorous instruction that encourages children to become critical and creative thinkers through experiences that help them meet the particular challenges of reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language.
Using the Reading & Writing Workshop Approach to teaching Literacy contributes to the development of student achievement in virtually every academic discipline. When we help a child become powerful at reading, we help that child become more powerful with school. At the same time this approach to teaching will: foster informed citizenship, a passion for knowledge, and the lifelong joy of reading.
